The Foul Smell of Cooked PATRIOTISM

As a responsible citizen of india,we have some responsibilities and we are bound to fulfill them with utmost sincerety, but in that course, most of us think that , the responsibilities decided by handful of not so wise and orthodox people are the supreme ones,it happens mainly because of our tendency to get brainwashed so easily. All of us possess a great asset our judgement centre i.e. our brain but very few of us use it for fruitful things . Most of us  use it for nonsense acts , and that is a fate and a bane as well for the humankind. We have quite an exceptional tendency to follow the crowd, led by almost anyone, without even pondering, that what is the actual motive of the leader, leading the crowd. In this haphazard, we forget an eternal truth that the crowd does give courage but snatches away our own identity, and a country where religious faiths are followed almost without any sense of judgement, because of unknown fears and lack of confidence in oneself, we forget that all of us have the same red blood and that we are for a far greater purpose on this planet and fight over the meaning of patriotism! Why do we shed off our purpose and  live according to the will of some self made stakeholders of all great human values like patriotism , religion etc.Folks, we are the citizens, who once showed the world how to live with prosperity, we are the pioneers of human civilization, then how can’t it ache all of you when you see the whole world laughing at us hillariously because of our world class portrayal of stupidity?

How can we even think of fighting over the definition of patriotism? Or, how can we define in words, such a mystic thing like ‘Patriotism’ acccording to our taste?(It is a sin! And no religion on the planet permitts a sin!We think we are very religious! This proves that we have lack of character!).These days , we are trying to bake , fry and garnish the meaning of patriotism and the most pathetic thing is we are trying to serve it on a platter of religion. Believe me , it is only creating a foul smell and giving a reason to our sisters and brothers around the world a vivid reason to laugh at us.Have we become so foolish and weak?Have we completely lost our sense of judgement? The numerous torch bearers of our independence wouuld be thinking that why are we trying to pull the flag of patriotism so down these days?We are those revolutionary people with brilliant minds who have triumphed Mars, much gracefully than the countries of our sisters and brothers.. if this much high is the height of our endeavours,l then why and how do we showcase thart kind of mockery?

How can we judge someone’s patriotism, by rubbish arguments  like the kind of slogan he/she chants or the kind of slogan he/she doesn’t chant. How can we guarantee that the person who chants a slogan is a true patriot or a person who doesn’t chant is not a patriot? How can we lock the meaning of patriotism in the shackles of mere slogans framed by different sects? Is patriotism so small? How can we cook it ? It is a nectar provided by nature to the mankind and we can’t go against nature ! PATRIOTISM HAS ONE AND THE ONLY THEME,WHICH RUNS THROUGH THE VIBRATIONS OF THAT PRECIOUS SENTIMENT “UNITY AT THE TIME OF ADVERSITY AND ILL ACTS” and this theme is there in every INDIAN no need to prove that.It cannot be framed under any banner it is boundless. It is actually a great irony hovering in our country that it religiously as well as intellectually the richest nation on the planet, but we are the ones who use religion as atool to fight with our own sisters and brothers, and divide and discriminate. Religion is actually a wonderful tool to unite through the flow of red blood, but alas!...We believe that the world is our family, but we forget everything when it comes to pragmatic approach and waste our time, energy, money, intellect almost everything on fighting and moulding the meaning of patriotism , religion and all great values. Wow!Even light doesn’t show this much duality! The media which considers itself as the fourth pillar of democracy should also rise above ratings and should avoid useless issues and show the important ones, automatically if the stakeholders will be berieved of cheap publicity, they will be valued less and the people of this nation can indulge in productive things.

Folks , I am not some kind of preacher of morality or some ‘Aghori Baba’. I am a very small entity a 19 year old boy, who is trying to throw light on the hazy picture, through his education. Please ! Remove the curtains of ignorance and neglegence, it is enough now!I am not writing all this to show myself above or prove any point I am writing all these because I can’t listen to the cries of my motherland, I can’t adopt the “let it go” attitude and turn away from my responsibilities. We have a lot of good and noble things to deal with, then why do we concentrate much on turning a sweet aroma into a foul smell? Please use your judgement abilities and do the correct thing! Please!..........

PONDER YOURSELF

The Taboos of India

A vast stretch of land, multilingual in colour and diversified in harvest, which cherishes a great dream shown by great persons throughout the ages whetheher it be Chanakya, Swami Vivekananda,Akbar The Great, Ashoka The Great and to say most recently Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, the dream of a Unified Vision and a Unified Nation, but the taboo is we only dream and dream and again re-dream and re-live the eternal dream but never bother to understand or achieve that dream and again and again we glorify the great Indian habit of procrastination. We adore the message of brotherhood and indiscrimination and portray ourselves as great visionaries but we do not accept this message on social front, this is a taboo. We say a lot of things which should be done to uplift the deprived and to empower the unempowered, but the taboo is most of us do not bother. We want that someone else should do the things which all of us know should be done but we do not want to be known as the CHANGE MAKERS but we have conditioned ourselves to become CHANGE PRAISERS, this is a taboo because, if we respect Mahatma Gandhi then how can we deceive his sayings, think yourself!

Folks, neither am I trying to bend this flow of expressions towards the sea of some Utopian Vision nor am I trying to portray myself as someone great who knows it all and who is trying to preach all of you,  as some of you may feel.I am only trying to remove the curtains of ignorance through my education and observations. All the readers have full rights to disagree, but yes, only on pure logical grounds. All right enough of my shielding, let us continue!

The country where there are countless Gods and Godessess, numerous religions adulterated through selfish motives, of orthodox stakeholders of every religion, this adulteration divides and divides mercilessly, but still we talk of oneness and try to reflect fragile emotions, this is a taboo. We love  and desire to be known as “Modern Citizens” and as far as my education is concerned modernity has one of it’s features as ‘Broadening Up of Thoughts’ but most of us are the same narrow minded and rigid Modern Orthodox People. The duality which we tend to follow in some form or the other which we do or even which we think, isn’t it a taboo? Everyone of us know what is correct and what is wrong but due to our own satisfactory needs we get carried away with the wrong things, we read lessons of great lives in our educational institutions, but our nourishment and certficates of literacy do not equip us with courage of selfless distribution, surely these things are taboo as per my notion , obviously, you can disagree! When intolerance tussels go on regarding one issue, and then the arguments in favour are countered regarding another issue, both the time we are deceiving ourselves, when quite hillariously we portray our feeble sense of judgement on the world’s canvas by fighting over the definition of patriotism and when the media of a “Unified Nation” gets Divided over silly things for the sake of cheap publicity, that time my wisdom doesn’t allow me to be a gaping onlooker, and , thus I find these things as taboo. We say that our nation is a land of great saints and messengers of the supreme power, then why for proving a mere point, we degrade ourselves so much and wear the attire of hatred , anger, ego and all negative values? Does it show character in our personalities, I am quite sure , the answer is a big NO, this is also a taboo.

When very religion which the people of this country follow quite blindly, says that killing an entity or anything which has life is a sin then how can we justify the killing of a particular animal and abandon the other, that too on religious grounds, this is just absurd,we call our nation by so many names and regard her as a mother figure then how can we spit so easily anywhere in this country? I must confess, without being too harsh that this is absolutely ridiculous! At every step , we think something, we follow something else and we do something else , are we confused ?

I am undoubtedly sure that we are not because, this land has produced pearls which have glown and shined to produce the light of enlightenment throughout the whole world, but it is a fate that we ourselves have forgotten our own destiny due to chaos of unwanted thoughts and losing faith in ourselves and believing in someone or something more which has a virtual existenece , about which none of us are quite sure.We showed the world the way to hope , faith , love and purity then how have we have forgotten those great values, I strongly feel, the answer lies within us only and if we are not able to find it out, we will again showcase the Taboos of India (because we know it and we don’t at the same time). Wake Up Folks, it really aches!!

The Everything

The  Flower, the Diva, the Mother, the primrose of life!

How  many forms do you carry? Oh! Dear Lady.

You the Epitome of Tolerance, the Beauty of Spring,

The grace of happiness and calm of sorrow, you are!

Thine essence, oh! Woman, Spreads throughout the heavens.

You the Mermaid, who rise from ,

The deep oceans of Faith and Hope.

You, the  Light of Enlightenment, erasing darkness all around!

How to portray your greatness, through the drops of ink,

Heart cannot think!

An  invisible moon, which constantly  blink.

Showers light,of colour, a soothing pink!

You  the  Harbinger  of   Peace,

The  delight of  a Lover’s Tiff,

the  Mirth  of   a Daughter,

the  Frontier Saviour!

How  many forms  do you carry, instead of unwanted guilts, to ferry,

Oh  ! Dear Lady!

Soul thinks and  rethinks about thine ulatimate persona,

Mesmerized it feels everytime !

How  smaller  does it feel, in front of thy, cannot  express I!

The   frolic  in your eternal beauty, the joy in  thine every presence,

Has some ties surely to the heavens!

Immortal  among  the Mortal Beings,

Wrapping  purity in evil things,

You are, oh! Dear  Woman.

Time will  roll by but thine grandeur will not,

how hard I try!

On the last note, I cry, but joyously,

“ Thine fragrance and the merry sound of thine Symphony, will echo, till

The  Judgement   Day!........................”

THE ACTUAL JIST OF LIFE

A Foetus’s Dream

Should I come to this world or should I not?I have seen the dream in the womb that, it’s the garden where humanity blooms, but soon that dream fades away and darkness hovers upon me and many devils in saffron ,white, green and many other coloured cloak haunt me and say come with us,or you will die . I have seen in that dream that I will born to blossom but again Isaw that I will be conditoned to tether.I am nervous should I born or not? In the dream I have seen there are beautiful rivers.lakes and ponds out there in the world of mortals but I do not know, why, the colour of water soon mystifiees into bloddy red, exactly the same  flowing around me here.I see the dream daily which starts with sunbeam , blooming petals, the chirp of birds and soothing things but very soon it vanishes and a new dream begins where there is fire all around, withhout birds, petals even the sun also becomes black in colour, there is violence and cacophony all around. I wake up daily inside the womb  due to fear and my spine shivers daily. In that dream I see that there are many great souls who bestowed there grace and kindled the light of enlightenment in that garden, but, again  I see that those souls are left alone shouting and crying, by the mortals, same in appearance ,just like me, carrying daggers in their hands and trying to behead each other, the other day I saw them saying, that, in every atom there is some supreme being known by many names to them.I haven’t seen that supreme being in my dream, otherwise I would have asked that if you are there in every atom how can you destroy yourself or how can they destroy you as they say you are supreme?I am not sure should I take birth or not?In that dream I saw the garden lush green and pearls of intellect shining, but the greenary soon erodes and red fencing is done everywhere and pearls are also lost. I see that dream daily inside the womb and think, should I go witness the garden or should I stay peacefully here. In that dream I see that there are tall mountains ,deep oceans, numerous creatures, all playing in  a tuned coordination and playing a harmony by complementing each other’s beauty but again I see greedy eyes and brutal smiles and faces dripping lust and vulgar gulping down everything synonymous to beauty..Sometimes I see that if flowers of that garden namely truth, purity , honesty, love, devotion, service etc are cherished by some of the humans, the gardeners of that garden, then every other human hatches conspiracies against them, raises swords both visible and non visible,  and destroy the whole garden and kill the gardeners, the visible swords kill their body and non visible ones cut their heart and sometimes the gardeners kill themselves and thus I fear taking birth as a mortal in that garden. Sometimes, I feel I also vanished in that dark haunted surrounding, but then I suddenly wake up and feel lucky that it was only a dream. But, in that dream, I also see a light so vibrant that I am not able to see it with eyes completely open, that light is full of energy and compells me to think twice, whether I should take birth or I shouldn’t.I feel if I don’t then, I will be called as cowards but only by my harbingers who are going to become my parents, but if I take birth and try to become a gardener in true sense then my harbingers will object due to their fears, ego, misunderstanding and due to all mortal emotions, but by not taking birth I will be deprived of experiencing the aroma of beautiful flowers of that garden. But I want to witness the garden being the gardener and truth seeker and my harbingers should not object for that great purpose for which I want to come to that garden, break the boundaries of illusion which divides the mortal beings, but, will I be allowed???If yes, then I should take birth and if not I should rest in peace here in the womb, the dilemma will be erased in the dream which I will see tonight, because tomorrow I am about to born or reborn……………………

Who is The Happiest?

A short story

Second week of December, vespers going on,desks full with common and known faces.”Stop father! Father stop!”comes the most energetic person of the residential junction, piercieng that divine silence. “God doesn’t exist””It’s a false beliefe”he cried awfully. One of the clergymen “Is he drunk?”The other answered suspiciously,”Probably not”.” Calm down gentlepersons”Bishop requested. A murmur emerged from the sea of silence. “What happened my child?””Why is this tubulence inside you?” asked the father. “Oh father I am ruined Shubhendu Paul has lost his mother, his job everything”he falls down on his knees and weeps bitterly.” Her soul may rest in peace”the father sighs and picks Shubhendu by holding his shoulders. Bishop though actually stunned, he composed himself. All clergymen also sigh. Everyone march towards Shubhendu’s house with a slackened gesture, father consoling the disheartened boy and asking him about the tragedy…

That very morning as usual when Shubhendu was ready to head for his office which is at adistance of 35 kilometre from his house, he told his mother that when he comes back do keep the sweets ready as his chances of promotion are prominent. He took his breakfast, offered prayers for his promotion as well as his mother’s health, as his mother suffered from a heart attack, a night before that day.He hugged his mom and waved for the last time. He reached office on time and due to immense hapiness, he gave a Rs 100 tip to the gatekeeper and entered with a vibrant and rejuvenated face. He started his work just like any other day, very happily, the day progressed, he was waiting for the call from the boss’s room, but when the clock struck 4 and sun was about to set and completely unaware of the fact that the sun in his life is also about to set he was preparing to leave for home. The boss called him, Shubhendu thinking of the promotion , knocked the door,”Sir, May I enter ?”The boss gazed him from tip to toe and twitching his facial muscles he said “You are fired Shubhendu Paul”turning Shubhendu’s thoughts upside down,Totally flabbergasted Shubhendu asked in a squeaky voice “Pa…. Par pardon me sir,sir pardon.” Yes you are out of the job”.All dreams and hopes shattered in a moment.”But why chief?””All your ill deeds have been mentioned in this letter, read it you will come to know and yes get out of the office before you read.”The boss said pointing fingers and in a harsh manner. Shubhendu gazed at him with wet eyes and took his steps back, weeping slowly he left the office, thinking of that huge obstacle in his smooth sail. Before going home,on his way  he met his beloved Deepshikha  who was on par with a princess,so pretty and merry. She was the daughter of a very rich person.”Hey! Shubhendu, congratulations for promotions”she exclaimed. A dejected Subhendu said “No promotions Deepshikha, everything is finished””What?” Deepshikha snatched the letter from her beloved’s hand and in the letter Shubhendu was charged of embezzelement of 1,00,000Rs and that was the reason he was thrashed out of the job. Deepshikha was completely in a shock.” Did you really……?””No dear can I do this?”Shubhendu uttered in complete disagreement.” Yes love I trust your dignity, let that foolish boss suffer the loss of an honest and trust worthy person”” Do not worry Shubhendu you will definitely get a good and better job than this?”Shubhendu composed himself and they bid adieu to each other. Shubhendu proceeded towards his home, there something more devastating was waiting for his welcome. He found his mother dead as soon as he reached home.He could just gaze at the corpse of his mother and thus due to anger and grief he ran to the church where the clergymen and father consoled him.

The coffin has been taken to the burial site. The bishop offers holy prayers, holding a crucifix. The earth engulfs the coffin and Shubhendu’s mother leaves for heavenly abode. The ever energetic soul of Shubhendu becomes a dried leaf.

Days passes by,time heals the wounds of that tragic loss.Shubhendu regains his energy and vigour but, becomes a complete atheist. After six months again he starts searching for a job. He comes to know that he was fired out from the previous job because of his boss’s nepotism. In the meanwhile he and Deepshikha gets married. Shubhendu can call only Deepshikha as his soulmate because every relative of Shubhendu have taken their hands back in these times of hardships as per the human follies, adding to the series of grievances , Shubhendu is not able to get a job because of the false alligations. He nearly loses all faiths but due to Deepshikha’s essence of love he goes on struggling. After few days,Deepshikha also surrenders in front of Shubhendu’s misfortunes and leaves for her father’s house as she was treated like a princess since childhood and all this is nearly unbearable for her.Shubhendu’s condition gets worse so much that he is not able to have a two course meal. Ultimately Deepshikha divorces him, now Shubhendu has only one belonging that is his house, but unable to pay the rent he has to lose that even.He is now left with nothing but the memoirs writeen on his heart’s deserted shore!Only his shadow is his companion now.

All the desires, worries, ambitions, goals, wishes have dried up now for him he is empty but also free from worldly miseries and joy.He is fiilled with vaccum and void.He has lost everything but has gained eternity of not having anything, he has acquired true happiness?Or a fragile one?the same scene repeats itself after a year’s gap….

Second week of December, vespers going on,same faces are praying,”God is great father!God is great”comes Shubhendu Paul crying with joy like a lunatic, breaking the silence.I have experienced the aroma of true happiness father!exclaimes he.Everyone in the prayer hall gives a calm smile.Shubhendu shouted “GOD IS ONLY AN ILLUSION TO MORTAL  BEINGS IN EXTREME SENTIMENTS”everyone turns back but Shubhendu was nowhere and everyone’s ears were ringing with an echo Who is The Happiest?........................

KINDLE THE LIGHT WITHIN

It is not a question of my role or someone else`s role,it is rather a sacred duty ,of every socimal(social+animal) and this is not just a matter of talk ,it is a heavenly sentiment  to be felt immersing in the ocean of one`s own wisdom. In Hindu mythology there is a belief that human body is made up of five elements Jal(Water),Agni(Fire),Vayu(Air),Aakash(Sky) and Bhumi(Soil) and all these things are prominent matters of our planet, rather more than a planet, the Earth. So we are bound to play major roles  as citizens of Earth because we are indebted to her.

The very fact that we are writing essays for our roles depicts that there is a lack of intellectual awareness and it`s a pity! The problem with human psychology is it knows what should be done and what shouldn`t be, but every time denies it.It is surely negligence towards wisdom and closing mind`s eye towards the sight of the bigger picture. We have a mind to think and no doubt we have utilized it through the ages and enhanced our lives but do we ever bother to reflect how all these ideas came to us.All these came to us via various elements of Earth.

Just reflect,if there were no trees,Newton`s genius would have never come into existence,Shakespeare`s greatness wouldn`t have reflected on paper. No rubber tyres,no Bible,no Geeta.Without  earthly elements  the magic of science and arts and any creative thing would have been just an illusion. This list will go on and on,but will not end.All these are my opinions but they may vary from person to person but  the eternal truth is truth and none can deny that .

Nature and earth has given us what we possess today, then why should I or anyone hesitate to play respective roles as citizens of Earth! Earth is all powerful but still she cries because she loves her citizens, she loves me,she knows that if her citizens deny to play their roles then the doomsday is pretty near. For my benefit only I should listen to her mourn cries. One thing that is important is,both Geeta and Bible teaches to perform duties selflessly. But in today`s times  very few adopt this wisdom path breaking the shackles of personal wants and gains and that`s why I have my selfish  reasons to play my role as a citizen of Earth. My mind also questions  what shall I achieve alone, performing my role but at the very moment soul assures that change can be brought.

Change starts from the thought to change and then comes the action which ultimately becomes a habbit ,so change starts with a single person and others join if it is positive.Swami Vivekanada said “Each soul is a divine potential”So it means everyone can  bring the change I can also bring it just there is the need to kindle the light within me and miracles will follow.

Now,in this light speedy modern era my role as a citizen of earth should be to do small things in a great way.I can start with the internet, yes I firmly believe it has great potential to bring revolution. My role should not be limited to conserving resources and organise seminars etc, because efforts have already been done in that direction and I believe they can do little but changed mentality can do more, negligence can be erased with filtered thoughts because, now  every person is available in the global village called the internet and frank interaction with logical arguements through web cams and networking sites can be marvellous tools for reminding the citizens about their roles towards Earth.I should portray Earth as mother to the kids and once they believe that , it will be of value for life.If everyone takes only one step ahead change will be many folds.

Yes, change is possible and for that I have to be the torch bearer of the revolutionary changes I aspire to bring and the roles I want to play as a citizen of Earth.

Some Characters Teach You Things Which Make Them Immortal........................

SEVERUS SNAPE

The coldly sarcastic and the bravest character of the Harry Potter series ,which produced ripples of excitement and mystery in our era , Proffessor Severus Snape is really admired by  me .His sheer penetrating gesture, throughout the movie and a straight forward yet concealed intensions are really a joy to watch which gives a chance to delve deeper into his essence of greatnesss .He had every quality of a great teacher and beyond that he vividly showed us the meaning of   a very good human being, as uncrystallized slowly in the film .A genius who lived for others .The Potions Teacher and The Teacher of Dark Arts , who helps the protagonist like his shadow for his selfless love for Harry’s mother and dedication for Professor Dumbledoor . The Half blood Prince’s qualities really inspire me to be a great soul like him. I think, after the protagonist Harry Potter ,Proffesor Snape the “Slytherin” fellow finds just the next place as a Wizard of All Times .Thanks to Allan Rickman and J.K. Rowling. I think , he gives today’s youth an important and a wonderful message, that love should be pure and selfless without a trace of violence or nasty thoughts and genius is not born, genius is acquired by devotion and hard work as he writes “This is the property of The Half Blood Prince”.

Heavens are crying and every pieceof this earth shall mourn over the demise of the person who made the character of Severus Snape so vibrant that it has become immortal but as they say “This is life”,so we have to accept it with a heavy heart that he has left for his heavenly abode leaving all art lovers in great sorrow and miseries ,but his and his character’s aroma shall prevail till the Judgement Day.May his soul rest in peace! The void left by his loss shall take ages to get filled but things will not be the same again Respected Allan Rickman. My sincere homage to thee and thine exuberant character, you have inspired people like me and will inspire many generations to come with the eternal great message that” Love Is The Purest Thing In This Universe”………………….
